Greg Kroah-Hartman<\/b> is a Linux kernel<\/a> hacker. He is the current Linux kernel maintainer for the USB<\/a>, driver core, debugfs<\/a>, kref<\/a>, kobject<\/a>, and the sysfs<\/a> kernel subsystems. He is also the maintainer of the linux-hotplug<\/a> and created the udev<\/a> projects. Additionally, he helps to maintain the Gentoo Linux<\/a> packages for these programs, and helps with the kernel package. He works for Novell<\/a> in the SUSE<\/a> Labs division. He is currently working full time on the Linux Driver Project.[1]<\/a><\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n

He is a co-author of “Linux Device Drivers, 3rd Edition”[2]<\/a><\/sup> and author of “Linux Kernel in a Nutshell”,[3]<\/a><\/sup> and used to be a contributing editor for Linux Journal<\/a>. He also contributes articles to LWN.net<\/a>, the news computing site.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kroah-Hartman frequently helps in the documentation of the kernel and driver development through talks[4]<\/a><\/sup>[5]<\/a><\/sup> and tutorials.[6]<\/a><\/sup>[7]<\/a><\/sup> In 2006, he released a CD image of material to introduce a programmer to working on Linux device driver development.[8]<\/a><\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
